I went to Martin after considering drastic measures to lose weight and feel better. I’m SO glad I did!! Within a week I felt a lot better and now over 3 months later, even more so. People are complimenting me on my weight loss and sparkle in my eye!! I had lots of issues with food and had tried every diet going over the years but I could never keep the weight off and I was beyond desperate for help! After a few weeks with Martin I learnt more about myself and how my body works, what it needed and why I had failed so many times in the past, than I ever had in 25 years of dieting!!!

When I first found Martin’s website I wasn’t sure if I should have a male trainer. Would it be awkward or embarrassing? Nevertheless I made an appointment and could see straight away how professional and understanding Martin was. Needless to say I am very happy to have met Martin as my 3 months with him have changed my life, and at last I feel I understand myself, my body and my relationship with food. I even discovered a love for swimming and a more positive attitude to exercise in general. They ought to get this guy into the schools as there would be far less health problems for the nations children!!

“After drinking a bit too much one night about 2 months ago, I took a good look at myself and my lifestyle and decided that something needed to change.

I was drinking too much wine and eating all the wrong foods and had little or no exercise except for the occasional stroll on weekends. My lower back was aching and the pain was starting to shoot down my leg. My weight had crept up to 10 stone 11 lbs which is a lot for me being just 5 foot 3 inches. My clothes were starting to feel tight and my face looked full and my posture was terrible.

I embarked on a 30 day detox with Martin Haley and cut out alcohol and processed foods, and introduced bottled water and fresh, organic foods. I also visited Martin twice per week after an initial assessment for personal training sessions where we went through couch based ‘treatment’, mobility and stretching routines, and went very deep into what I wanted to achieve and why.

The first few days were difficult with caffeine withdrawal but soon I was feeling great and full of energy. I became very organised with planning my food for work and drank at least 1.5 litres of water per day plus endless cups of fruit tea.
The weight began to fall off and more importantly, the inches began to melt away. Martin took some before and after pictures and it was only afterwards that I realised how bad a condition I was in previously. My posture was awful with hunched shoulders, rounded back, full face, my stomach big and round and no space between my arms and body.
When I compared this to my ‘after’ photo, my posture was much improved, shoulders back, my face slimmer and more defined, and there was space between my arms and body. I looked much less bloated and I was really pleased with the results in just 4 weeks.

Altogether, I lost a stone in weight getting down to 9 stone 11 lbs, the first time i had been under 10 stone in a very long time. I went from a size 14 to a 12 and clothes started to look great on me again. I also had lots of nice comments from friends and colleagues on how well I looked.

I now have only an occasional twinge from my back and am running 3 times per week with my husband. I allow myself the occasion treat to eat and drink but there is no way I am going to let it go and allow my weight to go above 10 stone again. I would highly recommend personal training with Martin if you want results. It’s not just the nutrition and exercise, it’s the encouragement, structure and mostly, the advice on different aspects of living well. Don’t think about the monetary cost, think about the cost of not getting your health back”
